family and friends gathered todayit seemed the only gloom in the roomcame from the paid mournerswe visitedgave our last respects to her still formwe enjoyed each other's companyi overheard a pastor comment on the laughter among the lothe said it was good to hear in a time like thisthere was laughterhugs and cheek kissinglife's collection of loved onescoming by to say goodbyeto someone already goneas alwaysnothing remains but the remainsonly the outer shell emptiedof a beautiful creature now goneflown awaybeyond the palelater we carried the box to the holequietly praised our Creator for her lifeher giftsher lovewe acknowledged eternitywe acknowledged salvation and deathdeath and salvationas i peered down into the red clay depthpondering this final cradletwo saints spokesaying there is morewe do not do this for the deadwe do this for the livingwe do this to give God glorythat there is more to all thisthan mortal toilthere is moremore than breathmore than earthbut rather more beyondi hope that when i diethat more people will come to laugh over those that come to cryi hope that when i diei leave enough stories behindfor my collection of loved onesto laugh and remember the timeand beyond all hopethat God is glorifiedanother soul leaving mortal bonds for gloryi know that there is morein meabout mebeyond methat will live beyond the grassy hillbeyond that red clay cradle
